Host ThunderCats Earn Bronze

Host ThunderCats Earn Bronze

CTC

The Cyclone Taylor Cup hosts, Creston Valley Thunder Cats, played the PJHL Champions, Aldergrove Kodiaks, in the Bronze Medal Game.

Thunder Cats Grant Iles opened the scoring, with his first goal of the tournament, a quick 37 seconds into the game. Just over two minutes later, Bryce Sturm gave the host Thunder Cats a 2-0 lead. Then just before the midpoint of the first period, Cole Arcuri powered a point shot past the Kodiaks keeper on the power play to give the T-Cats a commanding 3-0 lead.

That was all the scoring in the game, as the Kodiaks were unable to solve Brock Lefebvre. Lefebvre made 45 saves for his second shutout of the tournament, leading his team to the bronze medal win.

The Kodiaks Dawson Rodin made 38 saves in the loss.

It’s now a third year in a row that the PJHL champion has not earned medal at the Cyclone Taylor Cup.
