The opening game for the Cyclone Taylor Cup entertained the 618 in attendance as the Beaver Valley Nitehawks had a big 6-0 win over the Campbell River Storm. Several Nitehawk faithful made the trip over the Salmo-Creston pass.

Blake Sidoni opened the scoring for the Nitehawks and the Cyclone Taylor Cup. Moments later Nolan Percival gave the Nitehawks a 2-0 lead.

The Nitehawks kept pressing against the Storm and scored three more in the middle period (Mckoy Hauck, Sam Swanson, and Tyler Hartman).

Tyler Ghirardosi would ice the cake with the teams sixth goal of the game.

Both Storm goalies, Chris Smith and Spencer Deakin (AP), saw action as Deakin came in for relief Smith at the middle point in the game, splitting 43 shots between the two.

The Storm did not have a bad game, it was the Nitehawks played mistake free hockey and capitalized on any error the Storm made.

Tallon Kramer made 28 saves for the shutout and the win. The Nitehawks scoring was spread across six players, and five players had two points (Hauck, Ryan Terpsma, Dylan Heppler, Hartman, and Sidoni).

The three stars of the game were all from the Nitehawks: Hartman, Kramer, and Sidoni.
